Two-degree-of-freedom Control Scheme for Processes with Large Time Delay
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper, an analytical two-degree-of-freedom-control scheme is proposed for controlling processes with large time delay. The main contributions of this paper are that a setpoint response controller and an H∞ PID load-loop controller are developed based on optimal control theory, and control parameters are derived analytically. This structure can also be used to control integrating or unstable processes.

Design and Fabrication of an Improved Single-Column Chromatographic Separation Process
In this work, an improved single-column chromatographic (ISCC) separation process is proposed. The term `improved' refers to both conceptual and physical modifications compared to the available single-column processes, including a novel fraction collection scheme and allowing overlapped peaks from adjacent cycles. Also the fraction collection mechanism was modified in order to facilitate online...
متن کاملFree Vibration Analysis of a Six-degree-of-freedom Mass-spring System Suitable for Dynamic Vibration Absorbing of Space Frames
This study is concentrated on the natural frequencies and mode shapes of a simple three-member space frame coupled with a dynamic vibration absorber. The dynamic vibration absorber is modeled as a six-degree-of-freedom mass-spring system. For the first time, the free vibration of an elastic structure with a six-degree-of-freedom mass-spring system is found. Each member of the space frame has un...
متن کاملA Two-degree-of-freedom Smith Control for Improved Disturbance Rejection
A two-degree-of-freedom Smith control scheme is proposed for improved disturbance rejection for stable delay processes. The resulting set-point and disturbance responses can be tuned by two controllers separately. A novel disturbance controller design is presented with easy tuning and greatly improved performance. The internal and robust stability issues are discussed. Examples are provided for...
متن کاملA Novel Two-degree-of-freedom Control Strategy for Unstable Processes with Delay
A simple and practical two-degree-of-freedom control strategy is proposed for unstable processes with time delay. It can decouple load disturbance from setpoint response. By combining the theory on stabilizing PID controller proposed by Silva et al. with IMC method, the process in which the ratio of time delay to unstable time constant is smaller than 2 can be controlled effectively. Simulation...
متن کاملNovel Controller for Integrating and Stable Processes with Long Time Delay
In this paper, a novel control scheme is proposed on the basis of the well-known Smith predictor for the control of integrating processes with long time delay. It can provide one and half degree-of-freedom for the closed loop system tuning. Systematic design procedure is developed by employing optimal control theory, and simple and efficient tuning rules are derived analytically. It is shown th...
